Trout, Redfish, and an Unforgettable Spring Fishing Trip

What a great afternoon we had out on the water with Scott Robillard for our Half Day Trip (PM) with Seize The Bay Fishing Charters. April in Weeki Wachee is a prime time for inshore fishing, with the Spotted seatrout and Redfish (Red Drum) moving in closer to feed. We had clear conditions throughout the day, perfect for targeting these hard-fighting inshore species.

As soon as we got our lines in the water, the action started. We worked the flats using a mix of jigging and trolling, covering different depths to find the fish. It wasn't long before Scott hooked into a nice Spotted seatrout, putting up a great fight before we got it in the boat. A little while later, he set the hook hard on a solid Redfish that made some powerful runs, but he kept steady pressure and landed it. The bite stayed consistent, and we had a blast working different spots and techniques to dial in on the feeding fish.

The great thing about these inshore trips is the constant action. You never know what's going to smash your bait or lure next - could be a feisty trout, a bruiser redfish, or even something else. That's what keeps us coming back, that thrill of the unknown. Even if we didn't land a trophy-sized fish, it was still an awesome afternoon on the water, enjoying the spring conditions and each other's company.
